Some suggestions

Here we report some suggestions that might help you in making a compelling and effective poster

Organize Content Clearly

  • Structure your poster using well-defined sections such as Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.
  • Use clear headings with bold or uppercase text to improve navigation.
  • Adopt a consistent layout grid to align text and visuals cleanly.

Keep Text Concise and Readable

  • Use bullet points or short paragraphs to convey key messages quickly.
  • Minimize text to essential information that can be understood at a glance.
  • Use generous line spacing (e.g., 1.2 or greater) to improve legibility.

Choose Appropriate Fonts and Sizes

  • Use clear, sans-serif fonts such as Arial, Helvetica, or Verdana for readability.
  • Ensure the title is at least 64pt, headings at least 32pt, and body text no smaller than 24pt.

Use Effective Colors and Contrast

  • Maintain strong contrast between text and background (e.g., dark text on a light background).
  • Avoid color combinations that are difficult to distinguish (e.g., red-green, blue-yellow).

Enhance with Visuals

  • Include high-quality, relevant images, graphs, and charts that support your content.
  • Use visuals with strong edges and good color contrast.
  • Provide descriptive text or captions to explain the purpose of each image.

Ensure Visual Balance

  • Use sufficient white space to avoid a cluttered appearance.
  • Space elements evenly to help guide the reader’s eye naturally across the poster.

Include Essential Details

  • Display your institution's logo and affiliations clearly.
  • Provide your name and contact information for follow-up inquiries.

Make It Accessible

  • Create a digital version of your poster in accessible formats such as PDF or Word.
  • Include a QR code linking to the digital version, placed near the bottom of the poster.
  • Avoid complex formatting and tables that are difficult for screen readers.

Consider Print Quality

  • Use matte or fabric materials to minimize glare and reflections.
  • Ensure colors and images print well and remain clear at full size.
